Collaboration Agreement with Ise City Secures Oxygen Concentrators in the Event of An Evacuation
Anjo, Japan (October 15, 2021) — The CAIRE Medical Japan team recently concluded a collaboration agreement with Ise City, Mie prefecture, Japan, to provide support to persons with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in the event of a natural disaster or evacuation — a critical piece of Ise City’s Contingency Plan.
To celebrate this achievement, a special signing ceremony was held Oct. 13, with members of the CAIRE Medical Japan team including Mr. Hidetoshi Yamada, President of CAIRE Medical Japan, and government officials representing Ise City, including Mr. Kenichi Suzuki, Mayor of Ise City.
The contingency plan’s purpose is to prepare for when natural disaster strikes and to provide for persons needing medical support during the evacuated period. Through the agreement, CAIRE Medical Japan will supply oxygen concentrators to the welfare evacuation site, which will provide care for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, pregnant women and other individuals with certain medical conditions.
The plan, which ties into an overall coordinated response to prepare for large-scale disasters by the Japanese government, is a high priority following concerns over recent years regarding the natural phenomena including earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions, and the impact it has on the safety of citizens.
CAIRE Medical Japan also concluded a collaboration agreement with Kani City, Aichi prefecture, Japan back in May to secure oxygen concentrators in the event of an evacuation. This is second agreement designed to support local government in the event of an evacuation.
