United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Provides Innovative Oxygen Equipment to Improve Health in Ghana
Buffalo, NY, November 1, 2021 – Medical centers require effective medical oxygen equipment to provide quality healthcare services, especially to those individuals relying on therapeutic oxygen delivery to fight serious respiratory infections. The issue of oxygen shortages has been apparent throughout the global COVID-19 pandemic and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through its collaboration with AirSep distributor Chemonics International, is donating four AirSep Oxygen Systems to hospitals in Ghana in response to this critical need.
These new AirSep PSA Oxygen Systems have the capacity to produce 250 standard liters per minute of oxygen, and will be able to serve roughly 184 critically ill patients in the region. In addition to the gift of equipment, specialized training on how to operate and maintain the oxygen systems will be held for health care staff and engineers in each of the four locations.
A recent ribbon cutting and ceremony was held at the Ghana Infectious Disease Center, which is the first of the Four AirSep AS-J250-HMFL PSA Medical Oxygen Systems planned. The event, attended by government and agency leaders and representatives, put the spotlight on the important work by USAID and what the oxygen systems will mean to the people of Ghana.

One of the most significant benefits of these AirSep PSA Medical Oxygen Systems is that they never run out of oxygen. Oxygen is produced continuously on-demand, and AirSep has demonstrated that PSA oxygen is a reliable and safer alternative for hospitals and medical facilities, compared to cylinder or liquid oxygen supplies. More than 5,000 AirSep PSA Medical Oxygen Systems have been installed throughout the globe meeting central pipeline and other clinical needs within these medical settings.
