Chengdu, CHINA – Members of the CAIRE organization in Chengdu, China, welcomed Mr. Luo Qiang, the Mayor of Chengdu, to the CAIRE manufacturing plant in Southwest China for a tour of the facility and to learn more about the company earlier this year as part of efforts by local leaders to promote business expansion.
CAIRE, a leading global manufacturer of oxygen supply equipment for more than 50 years, has its global headquarters in Ball Ground, GA, with two additional manufacturing sites in Chengdu and Buffalo, NY. The CAIRE portfolio includes portable and stationary oxygen therapy devices and turnkey on-site generation commercial solutions that support home care, hospice, long-term care, hospitals, military, and key industrial applications.
The Mayor and local government officials had the opportunity to learn more about the product lines manufactured locally and talked about opportunities for investment and potential expansion. Chengdu, the capital of the Sichuan Province, is one of the five largest cities in China and is a major tourism destination.
During the Mayor’s visit, Mr. Aaron Jing, Director of Operations, presented CAIRE’s history and its role in the industry, and Mr. Zhong Tao, Account Manager, demonstrated CAIRE’s award-winning portfolio of portable and stationary oxygen concentrators.
“Mayor Luo was highly impressed with our ‘very promising products’ and shared that the Chengdu plant is a ‘strategic site’ because of its location in the center of the Sichuan, Tibet and Yunan – which is impacted by high altitude areas and has a high density of individuals suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) because of the high incidence of smoking,” said Mr. Jing.
Mayor Luo also expressed support for CAIRE’s business expansion in the region and offered support and resources to the company to make new investments in product lines being manufactured in the Pidu District, which is one of the 11 urban districts of Chengdu.
Also, in attendance was Mr. Liu Yingyong, the Chief Executive of Pidu District, who voiced pride in CAIRE as being one of the best companies in Pidu District and details around efforts to ensure business success for CAIRE in the region.
The launch of a circuit board industry development program is designed to ensure CAIRE’s Chengdu manufacturing facility can select circuit board suppliers locally. Also, a new train-sea shipping route from Chengdu to Guangxi will significantly facilitate standard shipping containers – 20 and 40 feet in size – transporting products from Chengdu to South and Southeast Asia, and the Mideast.
